Removing the power module

warning! Possible electric shock and property damage. Wires can be pinched during removal. Follow disassembly instructions carefully to avoid pinching the cable.

Note: Before beginning disassembly, remove the following parts: – Battery

- Top bag

– Printer module

- Capacitors (possibly removable)

- Boardstack (optional removal)

To remove the power supply:

1. If the disk array is installed in the base chassis, proceed to step

2. If the circuit board is removed, proceed to step 5.

2. Disconnect the power/therapy cable from the therapy circuit board.

3. Disconnect the 26-pin cable from the A04 control board.

4. Remove the stack of cards from the printer cover and power supply.

5. If you are replacing the power supply, remove the capacitor from the power supply (follow steps 6-9).

6. Remove and discard the right front screw (4-40 × 0.312) that secures the right side of the power module and ground harness.

NOTE: The ground harness is disconnected when the right front bolt is removed. Replace ground wire if damaged or worn.

7. Remove and discard the left front screw (4-40 × 0.312) that secures the left side of the power supply.

8. Loosen the rear 4-40 × 0.312 screw three turns that secures the rear right corner of the power supply bracket.

9. Tilt the left side of the power module up, remove any loose screws, and remove it from the base case.

Installing the power module

Install the power supply components:

1. Make sure the right rear 4-40×0.312 bolt is loosely inserted into the lower case (3-5 turns rearward).

2. Place the PSU into the lower case, making sure the notch on the right rear edge slides into place under the loosened screw.

3. Insert a new 4-40 × 0.312 screw into the front left corner of the power supply bracket.

4. Insert a 4-40 × 0.312 screw through the ground ring and install the screw in the right front corner of the PSU bracket. NOTE: Replace ground strap if damaged or worn.

5. Tighten the rear right corner bolt with a 4-40 × .312.

6. Install the power capacitor if you removed it.

7. Insert the disk pack (if you removed it).

8. Connect the 26-pin cable between the power module and the operator circuit board.

9. Connect the 4-pin power/service cable connector to the service circuit board. 10. Install the printer module.

11. Install the front cover.

12.1 Install the top case.

13. Insert the battery.

14. complete the PIP
