► Brief Introduction

This Philipilip Pads M5071A is work for Philipilip Heartstart HS1 M5066A AED Defibrillator.  The pads, packed in a cartridge, used with the HeartStart. Lifting the cartridge PULL handle turns on the HeartStart and opens the cartridge. The pads stick to the patient's bare skin. The HeartStart uses the pads to sense the patient's heart rhythm and to transfer the shock, if needed.
Each HS1 AED is shipped with one Adult SMART Pads Cartridge M5071A, containing one set of adhesive defibrillation pads. This cartridge is designed to be installed in the HS1.
To install the pads cartridge, open the SMART Pads Cartridge package and take out the Pads Cartridge. Do not open the pads cartridge until you need to use the pads in an emergency. Insert the cartridge into the cartridge well on the front of the defibrillator. It should click into place when properly seated. The green PULL handle should be all the way down.
These pads have an expiration date of two years from the date of manufacture and they should be checked and replaced as needed. These pads are labeled with instructions for lay rescuers, which makes the AED easier to use by people who are not highly trained medical personnel.

► Defibrillator Pads Placement with HS1 AED

1. Check the outside of the OnSite for signs of damage, dirt, or contamination.
2. The single-use pads must be replaced after being used. Locate the latch at the top edge of the OnSite and slide it to the side. The pads cartridge will be released. Lift out the used pads cartridge.
3. Remove a new SMART Pads Cartridge from its package and insert the cartridge into the cartridge well on the front of the OnSite. It should click into place when properly seated. The green PULL handle should be all the way down.
   • NOTE: To prevent the pads’ adhesive gel from drying out, do not open the hard cover or film seal of the cartridge until you need to use the pads.
4. Check supplies and accessories for damage and expiration dates. Replace any used, damaged or expired items. Use a new maintenance tag to record the pads expiration date for the new installed pads cartridge.
