Flex Cable Removal
Note: Before disassembly begins, the top box must be removed.
To remove the flex cable:
1. Disconnect the two ground straps connecting the top of the front chassis to the system shield from the system shield by removing the two screws.
Note: Note the location on the ground floor. If they are not reattached at the correct angle, the faceplate will not fit properly with the rest of the unit.
2. Pull the front case slightly forward away from the card stack and disconnect the flex cable from the PP circuit board.
3. Disconnect the flex cable from the circuit board and remove the cable from the device.
Flex Cable Installation
To install the UI Flex Cable:
1. Pull the front chassis slightly forward and away from the card stack and connect the user interface flex cable to the user interface board.
Note: Avoid bending the user interface flex cable during installation. Excessive bending can damage cables and connectors.
2. Carefully connect the user interface flex cable to the PP circuit board, making sure the pins are evenly connected to the connectors to avoid
possible pin damage.
3. Attach the two ground straps by attaching the top of the front case to the system shield with the two screws. Note: Note the location of the
ground wire. If they are not reattached at the correct angle, the front panel will not connect properly to the rest of the unit.
4. Put the top cover back on.
