► Brief Introduction
The non-invasive blood pressure measurement unit (NIBP) measures blood pressure using the vibration measurement method. This device can be applied to adult patients, children and newborns.
Three methods of measurement are available: Manual, Automatic, and Continuous.
NIBP measurement does not produce any wave shape. Instead, it displays the measurement result in the NIBP parameter window as shown below.
If a set of measured results appears in gray, this measurement was made at least one hour earlier.
► Introduction to Principle
The vibration measurement method has been adopted to measure NIBP. Inflate the cuff wrapped around the top of the arm until the pressure stops the blood flow in the upper arm artery. The cuff is then emptied of air according to the requirements of the algorithm. Blood flow resumes in the artery as cuff pressure decreases, leading to similar impulses in the cuff. The pressure sensor connecting the inflatable hose in the cuff will generate pulsating signals accordingly. The NIBP unit can process these signals and give the measurement result.
LED engine circuit
Open/close LED control. This circuit, along with motor Drive Circuit, finishes the inflatable work and unloads the cuff.
Engine circuit
Control the work of the air pump. This circuit, along with Valve Drive Circuit, finishes the inflatable work and unloads the cuff. Furthermore, it provides an engine status signal to the A/D adapter for detection.
NIBP signal process circle
NIBP signals are differential signals. The differential amplification circuit inflates differential signals and converts them into one-sided signals while sending a one-way signal to the A/D adapter and the other method signal to the blocking circuit and AMP. The blocking and AMP circuit removes the components of the continuous current in the signals, amplifies the signals and then sends them to the A/D adapter.
Excess pressure detection
Detect NIBP pressure signals. Once the pressure exceeds the protection limit, it sends a message to the CPU system, which will accordingly control the led engine circuit to open the valve to empty the cuff to reduce pressure.
