Philips debuts at the 6th China International Import Expo with eco-design products Technology empowers the low-carbon transformation of health care, and innovation helps accelerate the realization of the “double carbon” goal

Shanghai, China - From November 5th to 10th, Royal Philips of the Netherlands, a global leader in health technology, attended the CIIE for the sixth time, focusing on covering "healthy living", "disease prevention", "precision diagnosis", "interventional treatment" and " The "Full Process of Health Care" of "Home Care" brings a wealth of exhibits to professional customers and consumers.

Nearly half of the world's population still does not have access to health care services. At the same time, the medical industry also produces a large amount of carbon emissions, which has an impact on the environment. These are two major challenges facing the world today. As an active practitioner and long-term promoter in the field of sustainable development, Philips has always been committed to solving these key challenges through technological innovation and working closely with customers.

At this year's CIIE, Philips brought a variety of innovative products and solutions based on ecological design concepts, demonstrating the company's determination and actions to support sustainable development and help China's health and medical industry achieve low-carbon transformation.

Fei's new generation of liquid helium-free series of domestic magnetic resonance uses less helium to achieve high-quality and accurate diagnosis

Since China's "dual carbon" goal was proposed, accelerating the pace of green and low-carbon transformation and promoting sustainable development have become the consensus of all walks of life. "Green, environmental protection, and sustainability" have also become popular keywords at the CIIE. In response to this trend, Philips brought several eco-design products to this year's CIIE. The biggest highlight is the new generation of domestically produced liquid helium-free small 3T magnetic resonance - MR 5300. This is Philips' first generation liquid-free helium-free 3T magnetic resonance After Ingenia Ambition, BlueSeal is a new member of the liquid helium-free family.

The medical industry consumes a large amount of helium resources, accounting for approximately 30% of global usage. Traditionally, liquid helium has been the ideal coolant for magnetic resonance imaging systems, maintaining the superconducting state of superconducting magnets. On average, nuclear magnetic equipment consumes 1,700 liters of liquid helium. Helium is very light, and once it is emitted into the atmosphere, it will evaporate out of the Earth's gravity and evaporate into outer space, so liquid helium needs to be replenished regularly. There are approximately 50,000 magnetic resonance scanners installed around the world today, most of which rely on helium for cooling to enable early diagnosis and confirmation of neurological diseases, cancer and other serious health problems.

As the population ages and the incidence of neurological and oncological diseases increases, the number of scans continues to grow significantly, requiring more and more helium to meet these demands. And helium is basically a non-renewable and non-recyclable natural resource.

Back in 2018, Philips recognized that the overuse of liquid helium in MRI scanners was unsustainable. Therefore, Philips decided to develop a new type of liquid helium-free magnet. It uses Blueseal technology to completely encapsulate 7L liquid helium in a container and form it at once. While maintaining the superconducting state of the magnet, it achieves zero consumption of liquid helium, thus completely getting rid of the problem of magnetism. The risk of resonance "quench" has pushed the development of magnetic resonance equipment into a new era. At the same time, as a "never quench" magnetic resonance, Philips liquid helium-free magnetic resonance does not need to install a quench tube. The weight of the whole machine is more than 1 ton lighter than that of traditional magnetic resonance. It can be installed in any department on any floor, greatly expanding the range of The application scenarios and fields of magnetic resonance can better meet diagnostic needs and reduce equipment installation and maintenance costs.

Philips continues to work in the field of liquid helium-free, by reshaping the magnet, radio frequency, and coil systems, introducing the future liquid helium-free 3T platform, and launching a new generation of liquid helium-free MR 5300. With the launch of "MR 5300", it marks Philips Blueseal's non-liquid helium-free 3T platform. Liquid helium magnetic resonance officially marches towards liquid helium-free 3T and makes progress.

According to statistics, as of the end of November 2022, nearly 600 MRI scanners equipped with Philips BlueSeal technology have been installed around the world, saving more than 1 million liters of helium since 2018. Currently, this innovative nuclear magnetic system has been "Made in China" to better meet the clinical needs of Chinese hospitals.

In addition, other star ecological products participating in the CIIE include:

Haoke's multi-parameter functional CT with excellent energy resolution and new substance analysis function greatly improves the accuracy of first scan diagnosis, reduces energy consumption and unnecessary waste of resources caused by repeated scans, and relies on its unique 100kVp Low-dose spectral imaging provides patients with low-contrast, low-radiation safety care throughout the entire process.

The EPIQ Elite series color ultrasound diagnostic system embeds the concept of recycling into the entire product life cycle process. Compared with the previous generation product, it is 29% lighter and consumes 29% less energy. At the same time, key components of the ultrasound platform can be upgraded and iterated as needed, which can effectively improve product utilization.

Philips is a global leader in the field of sustainable development. The company has elevated "sustainable development" and the practice of social responsibility to the company's strategic level, covering the three major dimensions of ESG, including environment, society and governance, and is committed to being responsible and sustainable. Conduct all operations in the same manner. Philips is committed to improving human health and well-being through meaningful innovation and transforming vision into quantitative indicators through scientific methodology - improving the health and well-being of 2.5 billion people every year by 2030. We work closely with the ecosystem to jointly create value for customers, shareholders and various stakeholder groups, and assume the company's social responsibility for a "sustainable planet".
