Original New GE 1006-3623-000 Pressure Switch for Datex-Ohmeda Anesthesia Machine

Introduction

The GE 1006-3623-000 is a genuine pressure switch designed specifically for the pneumatic system of GE Datex-Ohmeda anesthesia machines. Commonly referred to as the 32 PSI MPOS pressure switch, this component serves as a critical safety element within the machine's gas delivery circuit.

The switch's primary function is to monitor the pressure of the intermediate-pressure oxygen supply. It transmits a switching signal to the anesthesia machine's main control circuitry to confirm that the gas supply is adequate. If the oxygen pressure drops below a critical threshold, the switch changes state, triggering a low-pressure alarm and preventing the ventilator from operating abnormally due to insufficient oxygen.

Functions

Real-time pressure detection is carried out by this switch inside medical devices. It triggers electrical signal output automatically when pressure rises or falls to the set value, which supports equipment pressure protection and status feedback. Strict original manufacturing tolerances are maintained to guarantee stable and repeatable trigger performance.

The switch continuously samples the pressure in the oxygen medium-pressure line. It ensures that the machine only operates when a safe oxygen supply is present, directly reducing the risk of patient hypoxia during anesthesia.

Its robust metal casing delivers reliable protection against mechanical shock. Compact size allows convenient integration into limited equipment internal space. Long service life and consistent response accuracy are provided for clinical equipment operation.

Installation Procedure

1. Prepare New Switch: Inspect the new switch for any damage. Ensure the sealing O-rings are in place and in good condition

2. Position and Secure: Insert the new switch into its mounting position. Secure it with the original screws. Do not overtighten, as this could damage the switch or housing.

3. Reconnect Pneumatic Lines: Connect the pneumatic tubing to the correct ports on the switch, referring to your notes or the service manual for the correct routing.

4. Reconnect Electrical: Plug the electrical connector back into the switch.

5. Leak Test: Perform a comprehensive leak test on the pneumatic system as described in the service manual.

6. Functional Test: Power on the machine and verify that the pressure switch functions correctly, including the low-pressure alarm.

Safety

Power and gas sources must be fully disconnected from the medical device before any installation or removal work.

The red cap should stay on the pneumatic port when the switch is not in use, to prevent dust and debris from entering the internal channel.

As a wear component, the switch should be checked during routine anesthesia machine maintenance. Look for signs of leakage, signal drift, or abnormal alarm behavior. Replace it immediately if any issues are found.

The pressure switch is factory-calibrated. Do not attempt to adjust the set point or tamper with the internal mechanism, as this will void its calibration and could compromise patient safety.
