Edan XM1 Model Inner Frame Original Replacement Spare Part
Introduction
The Edan XM1 NIBP interface is the pneumatic connection port built into the XM1 parameter module. It's the point where the NIBP air hose plugs in to link the blood pressure cuff to the module's internal pump and pressure sensor. The XM1 module itself is a plug-in expansion unit for the Edan Elite series patient monitors, carrying ECG, respiration, NIBP, temperature, pulse rate, and SpO₂ in a single slide-in package.
The interface uses a mono plug connector with a copper and nylon construction. A short NIBP tube is included as a standard accessory with the XM1 module, along with a reusable adult cuff. The port is positioned on the module's faceplate alongside the other parameter connectors, so it's accessible without removing the module from the monitor rack.

Functions
1. Connects the cuff to the pump. The interface is the physical link between the external blood pressure cuff and the XM1's internal pneumatic system. Without it, the module can't inflate the cuff or sense pressure changes.
2. Uses a standard mono plug design. The connector mates with widely available NIBP hoses, so you aren't locked into a single supplier. Edan OEM tubes and compatible aftermarket hoses both fit.
3. Lets the module sit in the rack. Because the interface is on the module faceplate, you can connect and disconnect the air hose without pulling the XM1 out of the monitor.
4. Works with the monitor's NIBP menu. Once the hose is connected, the NIBP channel can be activated from the MeasureSet menu on the host monitor

Caution
1. Check the hose connection before every measurement. A partially seated connector will leak air and cause inaccurate readings or a "NIBP leak" error.
2. Use compatible hoses. The port accepts standard mono plug NIBP hoses. Using a hose with a different connector style won't seal properly.
Inspect the port for damage. Bent or corroded pins inside the connector can prevent a proper seal. If the hose feels loose when inserted, the port may need replacing.
3. Run a leak test if measurements seem off. The Elite V5 manual describes an automatic leak test that inflates the pneumatic system to about 180 mmHg and checks for pressure loss after 20–40 seconds.
4. Keep the port clean. Dust or debris in the connector can affect the seal. Wipe the module faceplate with a soft cloth during routine cleaning.
