Description

Features:

- The PB840's inhalation safety valve is a mechanical one-way valve/negative pressure opening valve. It requires no power supply or electronic control, relying on mechanical structures such as springs, diaphragms, or gravity for high reliability.

- This valve is designed to open even at relatively low negative pressure, allowing patients to easily inhale air even without ventilator support.

- During normal positive pressure ventilation, the valve remains closed, not affecting the positive pressure support provided by the ventilator.

- The valve only allows outside air to enter the circuit under negative pressure; it does not allow reverse leakage of gas within the circuit under positive pressure.

- When the machine detects abnormal gas supply, insufficient inspiratory flow, or serious leakage, it will trigger an alarm and provide basic safety assurance.

Functions:

- Mechanical Overpressure Protection: The ventilator precisely controls inspiratory pressure and flow through an electronic proportional valve. The inspiratory safety valve is a mechanical spring-loaded or diaphragm-type pressure relief valve. If the electronic control system malfunctions, causing an abnormal increase in airway pressure at the inspiratory end that exceeds the set mechanical safety threshold, this valve will passively and automatically open to expel excess gas.

- Prevention of Barotrauma: Through physical pressure relief, it protects the patient's lungs from fatal barotrauma (such as pneumothorax) caused by machine malfunction.

- Ventilator Self-Test: During the PB840's Start-up Self-Test (SST, i.e., Quick Self-Test) and Extended Self-Test (EST), this valve is actively controlled or pressure tested to verify its sealing and pressure relief threshold.
