Product Introduction

The power supply board (part numbers 051-000193-00 and 6800-20-50051) is the main power unit inside the Mindray BeneView T8 patient monitor. Located on the back of the monitor, this board receives input power from AC power or the built-in battery and converts it into a stable DC voltage that all other components of the monitor rely on to operate.

What appears to be a single circuit board is actually a module containing four independent PCBs: a charging and power management board, a buck DC inverter, a boost/buck DC inverter, and a 5V CIS buck power supply board. Together, they are responsible for all functions from battery charging to voltage regulation of the various subsystems of the monitor.

Main Functions

1. Incoming alternating mains current is processed and converted into multiple channels of regulated direct current by the board. Each output channel is precision-calibrated to match the voltage needs of specific internal components, ensuring the main processor, parameter sensors, display and peripheral modules all receive steady, matched power for consistent performance.

2. It also manages the full charge-discharge cycle of the monitor’s built-in backup battery. Automatic charging activation and full-charge cut-off are handled internally with no manual input required, and seamless switchover to battery power triggers immediately if external mains supply is interrupted unexpectedly.

3. Continuous real-time monitoring of output status runs across all channels via built-in sensing circuits. If abnormal conditions such as overcurrent, overvoltage or short circuit are detected, power to the affected channel is cut off instantly to prevent costly, permanent damage to the monitor’s mainboard and other sensitive internal electronics.

Precautions for use

1. Leave replacement and servicing to trained professionals. The power board is an internal component that sits close to high‑voltage circuits. Only qualified biomedical engineers or authorised Mindray service technicians should open the monitor, remove the board, or install a new one. Clinical staff should never attempt these procedures themselves.

2. Always disconnect power and remove batteries before working. Before any work begins, the monitor must be powered off, unplugged from the wall outlet, and both lithium‑ion batteries taken out.  prevents accidental short circuits while handling the board.

3. Watch out for stored charge. The power board contains capacitors that can hold a dangerous electrical charge even after the monitor has been disconnected. Give the capacitors a few minutes to discharge naturally before touching the board, and follow the specific safety steps outlined in the service manual.
