Mindray D3 Defibrillator Encoder Assembly 9200-20-10542 Including Wiring
Product Introduction
The encoder assembly, part number 9200-20-10542, is the rotary control unit that lives on the front panel of the Mindray BeneHeart D3 defibrillator/monitor. It's the knob you turn to select energy levels, switch between operating modes, and adjust various patient parameters during care.
The assembly comes as a complete unit that includes the encoder itself plus the dedicated wiring harness that connects it to the D3's main control board. Based on the technical description, this particular encoder uses incremental photoelectric encoding technology , it's built around a precision code disc, light emitting elements, photosensitive sensors, and signal processing circuitry.

Functions
1. Delivers precise defibrillation energy adjustment. When you turn the encoder clockwise or counter‑clockwise, it outputs a corresponding pulse sequence: 5 pulses per 15° of rotation, that maps precisely to the D3's energy settings, from 20J right up to 360J for biphasic energy switching. This means the energy you dial in is the energy the patient actually gets, with no guesswork or signal drift.
2. Controls patient parameters and menu navigation. Beyond energy selection, the encoder handles a wide range of tasks: adjusting vital sign parameters like heart rate, SpO₂, and blood pressure; switching between AED, manual defib, and pacing modes; selecting ECG leads; and setting alarm thresholds. The 1 kHz response frequency means even rapid, frantic adjustments during a code don't get dropped or misinterpreted by the system.
Installation procedure
1. Insert the new encoder assembly through the front panel cutout.
2. Secure it with the retaining nut or fasteners. Do not overtighten.
3. Route the harness along the original cable path, avoiding sharp bends and keeping it away from high‑voltage areas inside the device.
4.Connect the harness to the main control board.
5. Close the housing and reinstall the battery.
6.After reassembly, run a full functional test of the defibrillator to confirm that the encoder registers all positions correctly and that all modes and energy levels are selectable.
