Product Introduction

The external paddles for the Mindray BeneHeart D3 are the primary tools for delivering life saving therapy. They're what you grab when manual defibrillation, synchronized cardioversion, or non-invasive pacing is needed. You'll find them stored in the dedicated tray on the back of the D3, ready for quick access in an emergency.

What makes these paddles particularly clever is their design. They're a single set that works for both adults and children. The adult-sized electrodes slide off to reveal smaller pediatric ones underneath,They're built tough,designed to withstand the rigours of daily clinical use, including repeated sterilization

ECG Measurement with External Paddles

• Grasp the paddle handles and pull straight up to take the paddle set out of the paddle tray.
• If the paddle cable is not yet attached to the equipment, connect it.
• Coat the electrode surface of both paddles with conductive gel.
• Position the external paddles on the patient using the anterior-lateral placement method.
• Put the sternum paddle on the patient’s upper right chest: lateral to the sternum and beneath the clavicle.
• Place the apex paddle at the patient’s left nipple along the midaxillary line, aligning the electrode’s center with the midaxillary line.

WARNING

• During synchronized cardioversion, if monitoring patient’s ECG through external paddles, artifact introduced by paddle movement may resemble an R-wave and trigger a defibrillation shock.

• Do not use conductive liquid. Use only conductive gel specified by the equipment manufacturer.

• If external paddles are used for defibrillation, apply the external paddles tightly and evenly to the patient’s chest to ensure good skin contact.

• Never apply the paddles to human body to verify paddle connection.

• Clinicians must select an appropriate energy level for defibrillation of pediatric patients.

• Never charge and deliver shock frequently in non-clinical situations. Otherwise equipment damage could occur.
