►Battery Maintenance:

1. FASTPAK 10 batteries must be charged and maintained using the Physio-Control's dedicated Battery Support System. Never use an old two-well battery charger to charge FASTPAK batteries, as this may reduce battery life and even pose a fire or explosion risk. Regularly performing a "state restore" can reverse the so-called voltage degradation effect and effectively eliminate the battery's "memory effect." It is recommended to perform a restore every three months and a Shelf Life Test every six months.

2. Temperature and Environmental Control: During charging, the ambient temperature should be maintained between 20°C and 25.5°C (approximately 68°F to 78°F). Charging at temperatures outside this range will prevent the battery from reaching full capacity and may even cause irreversible damage to the battery cells. Store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

3. Routine Storage and Regular Inspection

If the defibrillator is stored without AC power for more than one month, the battery should be removed and stored separately. However, it is recommended to charge the stored battery for at least 24 hours every 6 months to prevent deep discharge and permanent battery damage. The device's battery status indicator and remaining power should be checked regularly to ensure it is ready for use at any time.

1. Prepare anti-static gloves, a plastic pry bar, and cleaning swabs or anhydrous alcohol to clean the contacts inside the battery compartment. Before proceeding, ensure the device is completely powered off and the AC power is disconnected.

2. Before opening the battery compartment cover (which may require unscrewing certain screws or pressing clips), check the condition of the old battery and note the orientation of the positive and negative terminals. Gently press the release clips and carefully remove the old battery. If the contacts are oxidized or dirty, clean them with a cotton swab dipped in a small amount of alcohol.

3. Smoothly push the new battery (REF3009376-007) into the battery compartment according to the marked positive and negative terminals until you hear a "click" to lock it in place. Reinstall the cover and tighten the screws. Power on the device to test if it starts normally and if the battery level display is normal.
