Comen STAR8000C Patient Monitor Temperature Interface E180908
Product Introduction
The Comen STAR8000C Temperature Interface (E180908) is a dedicated OEM signal conditioning and connection module specifically designed for the STAR8000C series multi-parameter patient monitors. It functions as the critical bridge between the patient connected temperature probe and the monitor’s internal processing system, converting the minute resistance changes from the probe into stable, digitized temperature readings for real-time display, alarming, trending, and data storage.

Functions
1. The E180908 is engineered specifically for 10 kΩ NTC (negative temperature coefficient) thermistor probes, which change resistance inversely with temperature.
2. The interface contains a high-accuracy signal amplification and filtering circuit that converts the probe’s minute resistance variations (which can be as subtle as a few ohms per 0.1 °C) into a stable, standardised voltage signal. The digitised temperature data is then transmitted to the STAR8000C‘s main processor for display, alarming, trending, and storage.
3. With a measurement range of 25 °C to 45 °C, resolution of 0.1 °C, and system accuracy of ±0.1 °C, the interface meets the stringent requirements for detecting subtle body temperature changes—crucial for identifying early‑stage fever, hypothermia, or post‑operative temperature instability.
Installing the new E180908 connector
Reassembly and testing
1. Replace the rear housing cover, aligning it carefully with the front chassis. Ensure that no internal cables are pinched between the two halves.
2. Insert and tighten the rear cover screws.
3. Reinstall the internal lithium‑ion battery (if removed).
4. Reconnect the AC power cord.
5. Turn on the monitor. Allow the power‑on self‑test to complete.
6. Connect a known‑good temperature probe . Apply the probe to a stable temperature source .
