Comen STAR8000C Patient Monitor SpO2 Interface S0003B-K Maintenance Part

Product Introduction

The S0003B-K is designed for high‑fidelity signal transfer. Its dedicated signal‑processing circuitry receives the raw photoelectric signals from the SpO₂ sensor, then amplifies, filters, and denoises them to remove muscle artifact, 50/60 Hz power‑line interference, and patient motion noise. This yields a clean, reliable signal that the monitor can use to accurately calculate oxygen saturation and pulse rate values.

About SpO₂ measurement

The interface supports the full clinical measurement range: SpO₂ from 0 % to 100 % (accuracy ±1 % in the 90 %-100 % range and ±2 % in the 70 %-89 % range), and pulse rate from 0 bpm to 250 bpm (accuracy ±1 bpm). With a data transmission delay of less than 20 ms.

the monitor itself supports advanced optional configurations beyond standard SpO₂. For clinical settings that require specialized pulse oximetry, the STAR8000C can be optionally equipped with SpO₂ measurement technologies to meet the demands of different patient populations and monitoring scenarios.

Advantages

1. This interface supports hot swapping operations and can be connected or disconnected when the monitor is powered on without damaging the interface, monitor, or sensor.

2. The interface adopts a gold-plated 6-pin connector, which has excellent corrosion resistance and contact reliability. The polarization alignment key can prevent reverse insertion (which may damage the connector pins), and even when moving or vibrating the display, the spring-loaded latch can firmly secure the sensor plug in place.

3. When there is no sensor connected, the automatic dust cover will close to prevent dust, lint, and liquid from splashing out of the connector.

Protection

  • 4000 VAC high‑voltage isolation — Protects the monitor‘s mainboard from transient high‑voltage spikes that can occur during defibrillation or when using electrosurgical units (ESUs).
  • Over‑current protection — If the sensor draws excessive current due to a short or internal fault, the interface automatically limits or cuts off the current to prevent damage to the monitor.
  • Short‑circuit protection — Detects a short in the sensor cable or connector and safely isolates the circuit.

Installing the interface

1. Align the new interface with the mounting slot on the chassis. The interface is keyed, so it can only be inserted in the correct orientation.

2. Press it gently but firmly into the slot until it snaps into place and you hear or feel a click confirming that the latches have engaged.

3. Visually inspect that the interface sits flush with the chassis and that the dust flap operates correctly.
