This is a silicone keypad cover specifically designed for the STAR8000C patient monitor.

This keypad cover is installed on the front of the device. The front panel features seven buttons: an orange button for power on/off, distinguished by color for easy operation by medical staff; and six other buttons covering different functions.

The silicone keypad cover is soft and waterproof. Once installed, it prevents external disinfectants and other liquids from entering the device, avoiding damage to the internal keypad and extending its lifespan, thus reducing the frequency of device repairs.

Q1: Will the silicone buttons soften and deform when used in high-temperature environments in summer?

A1: This silicone panel has undergone high-temperature stability testing. It will not soften or deform under normal hospital ambient temperatures (0-50℃), maintaining a stable pressing feel and not affecting device use.

Q2: Will the silicone buttons harden/become brittle with long-term alcohol disinfection?

A2: This button membrane is made of medical-grade disinfectant-resistant silicone material, which can withstand routine wiping disinfection with 75% alcohol and is not prone to hardening or cracking due to frequent contact with disinfectant. However, it is not recommended to soak in high-concentration alcohol or spray for extended periods, as this may accelerate aging.

Q3: The buttons on my device are slightly sticky. Should I replace the entire button membrane?

A3: Slight stickiness is usually caused by silicone aging or disinfectant residue. Initially, you can clean it with alcohol. If it's already unpressable or has a slow rebound, it's recommended to replace it to prevent further aging that could lead to button malfunction or liquid intrusion.
