These power switch and record buttons are original replacement parts from the Nihon Kohden BSM-4113K monitor. They are made of high-quality plastic, making them sturdy, durable, and long-lasting.

The power switch button is located on the lower left of the monitor. It is a mechanical hard switch and must be pressed all the way down to activate, preventing accidental shutdown due to accidental contact. When the monitor is on, the green light next to the button will be constantly lit; when it is off, the light will be off. The main functions are:

- System Startup and Shutdown: Used to turn on the monitor's main unit power, putting it into working condition; a long press is used for normal shutdown, ensuring the system software exits safely.

- Self-Test Trigger: At the moment of power-on, the operation of the power switch triggers the device's self-test program (POST), checking the screen, indicator lights, alarm sounds, and internal circuitry for normal operation.

The recording button is located on the far left of the lower left side of the monitor. It is a rectangular button with a "Record" icon printed on it. A short press starts real-time recording, printing the waveform and values currently displayed on the screen. It usually prints 8 seconds of historical data plus real-time data by default. A long press for about 2-3 seconds starts continuous real-time printing, with paper feeding without stopping, used to capture the moment of an attack. Another short press will stop it. Its function is to control the start and stop of the built-in thermal recorder, used to keep paper ECGs or parameter reports.
