Description

In the Nippon Kohden BSM-4113K patient monitor, the connection cable between the parameter board and the NIBP module primarily handles bidirectional information exchange and energy transmission. The parameter board sends measurement commands to the NIBP module via this cable. The control chip inside the NIBP module processes the signals collected by the pressure sensor, calculates the systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and mean pressure, and transmits these digital values back to the main board for display via the cable. It also provides a common ground to eliminate interference, ensure the accuracy of the measurement signals, and transmit the module's operating status.

Common malfunctions:

- Pressing the blood pressure button produces a "click" sound from the solenoid valve, but the air pump remains completely still.

- At the end of the measurement, the air release sound is unusually sharp and rapid (air is released completely in less than 1 second).

- The machine stops and reports "NIBP Safety Overpressure" or "Pressure Failure" just after reaching approximately 50 mmHg.
