GE PRO1000 Patient Monitor NIBP Module 990-00050-001 V2-12V-VCP 6PSI Spare Part
► Brief Description
The NIBP Module part number is 990-00050-001, which is compatible with the GE PRO1000 Patient Monitor. This module is the core component of the blood pressure measurement function. It is powered by 12V and uses the oscillation method to measure blood pressure. By inflating the cuff, it detects the tiny fluctuations in cuff pressure caused by arterial blood flow and calculates the systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and mean arterial pressure.

►NIBP Module Features
When the cuff and tubing are connected to the monitor and an NIBP measurement is initiated, the air pump inflates the cuff. Two piezoresistive pressure sensors (PT1 and PT2) within the module monitor the pressure in real time and transmit the cuff pressure signal to the control system via a pneumatic manifold.
The NIBP module also incorporates an over pressure protection circuit to prevent the cuff from being inflated to excessive pressure and causing injury to the patient. During measurement, the air pump can increase the cuff pressure to a maximum of 200 mmHg. The module automatically pressurizes the cuff to 260 mmHg for testing, and then observes the pressure stability—the pressure reading should not drop by more than 6 mmHg/minute within a few seconds; exceeding this range indicates a system leak.
►Calibration and Performance Verification
1. Airtightness Test
An airtightness test should be performed before calibration. Inflate the cuff to 200 mmHg and observe whether the pressure remains within a fluctuation range of 5 mmHg over 60 seconds. If it exceeds this range, it indicates a defect in the cuff or tubing.
2. Calibration Check Procedure
The calibration check requires a calibration kit (part number 320-246), an adult cuff, tubing, and a pressure gauge:
Enter service mode and select NIBP service parameters.
Select pneumatic reset and then close the valve.
Confirm that both PT1 and PT2 pressure values show 0 mmHg.
Connect the tubing to the NIBP interface on the monitor.
Fold the cuff to align with the index lines and tighten all connections.
Manually pump the pressure to approximately 220 mmHg, deflate to 200 mmHg, and stabilize for one minute.
Observe the pressure values of PT1 and PT2 on the menu; they should be within ±1 mmHg of the pressure gauge reading.
Verify linearity using 250 mmHg, 150 mmHg, and 50 mmHg; the deviation should be within ±3 mmHg.
3. Pressure Recalibration
If the calibration check results exceed the allowable deviation, pressure recalibration must be performed. The recalibration procedure is similar to the check, but adds a zero-point calibration function—the system will prompt "Pressure the system to 200 mmHg, then press 'Cal Press 200'".
After calibration, be sure to re-enable NIBP calibration protection to prevent accidental modification of calibration parameters.
