The Biolight M66 Patient Monitor features a dual-temperature interface, measuring from 0°C to 50°C (covering human body temperature and extracorporeal circulation temperature). It is compatible with both thermistor and thermocouple probes:

1. Thermistor: It operates based on the characteristic that the resistance of a semiconductor changes with temperature. The M66's interface circuitry is designed to accurately measure minute resistance changes and convert them into temperature readings.

2. Thermocouple: Some configurations support thermocouples, which operate based on the Seebeck effect and are suitable for scenarios requiring extremely fast response times, such as deep esophageal or rectal temperature measurement.

The Biolight M66's temperature sensor interface supports multiple probe connections to meet diverse clinical needs:

• Surface Monitoring (Skin Temperature): Surface thermistor probes. Placed under the patient's armpit, forehead, or extremities. Used for monitoring peripheral circulation and basal body temperature screening.
• Core Temperature Monitoring (Body Cavity Temperature): Esophageal, rectal, or nasopharyngeal probes. In general anesthesia or cardiopulmonary bypass surgery, surface temperature often lags behind core temperature. Connecting deep probes via the M66 interface allows physicians to monitor real-time temperature changes in the heart and brain, enabling timely rewarming or cooling measures.
• Temperature Difference Monitoring: The M66 features a dual-channel temperature module, allowing physicians to connect two probes simultaneously and calculate the temperature difference via the interface for assessing the peripheral perfusion index.

The Biolight M66 is more than just a display device; its integrated signal processing unit performs complex processing on the raw data received from the sensor interface:

- Analog-to-Digital Conversion (ADC): The analog electrical signal received by the interface is converted into a digital signal using a high-precision ADC.

- Linearization Correction: Since the resistance of a thermistor typically has a non-linear relationship with temperature, the M66's internal algorithm linearizes the signal, ensuring that the value displayed on the screen is an accurate linear temperature value.
