Description

The Cardiofax ECG-3150 printer cover features a snap-on hinge design, allowing for easy opening and removal without tools, facilitating routine maintenance. Made of high-quality engineering plastic, it uses genuine parts consistent with the main unit. When the cover is closed, it triggers a microswitch inside the machine, informing the mainboard that "the cover is closed and printing is safe." If the cover is not properly closed, the machine may display an error message or prevent printing; this is a safety interlock mechanism.

Applications:

- Physical Protection: This is its most direct function. The print cover covers the precision thermal printhead and paper feed rollers, preventing dust, paper scraps, liquids, or foreign objects from entering the printing mechanism and causing printhead damage or paper feed malfunctions.

- Noise Reduction and Light Blocking: During printing, the cover helps to seal the paper feed path, reducing the noise of the motor and mechanical transmission. It also blocks strong external light, improving the contrast of thermal printouts on ECG sheets, making it easier for doctors to read the waveforms.

- Paper Roll Fixation and Guide: With the print cover open, the internal structure holds the thermal recording paper roll. When the cover is closed, it applies slight pressure via springs or clips to ensure a tight fit between the paper and the printhead, guaranteeing smooth paper feed and clear waveform recording.
