The power supply is a power factor regulator and DC/DC converter in a single unit. It is designed to accept a 100-240 VAC input voltage and provide up to 60 W of constant output power and up to 200 W of peak power.

The alternating current (AC) from the input is fed through an input filter network to the AC/DC converter, which functions as a power factor regulator and rectifier circuit in a single unit.

The converted DC voltage feeds the isolated DC/DC converter, which provides a regulated output voltage of 19 VDC, which is used to power the Cardio-Aid® multi-card electronic system.

The power supply is protected against overloads by two high-capacity fuses installed in the AC input connector on the rear of the Cardio-Aid®.

The converter output is electronically protected against overloads and overheating. In the event of an overvoltage, the unit will automatically shut down. The unit will resume normal operation after disconnecting the main power from the AC input for a few seconds.
