battery safety information
The battery compartment door must be closed during defibrillation.
Use a rechargeable philip Li-ion battery or three Duracell AA, MN 1500, 1.5V alkaline batteries to ensure the listed performance and correct battery indicator reporting. Old, incompatible, or poor quality batteries may provide unacceptable performance (e.g. low battery warning times). It is highly recommended to use new high quality alkaline batteries.
Some abnormal conditions, such as short circuits, may cause the battery to overheat during use. High temperatures can cause patient and/or user burns if the MX40 becomes hot to the touch. Remove from patient and set aside until cool. Then remove the battery and discard it. Have the MX40 checked by your service provider to determine the cause of the overheating.
If you receive a TELE BATTERY LOW, TELE BATTERY EMPTY, REPLACE BATTERY T, or TELE BATTERY TEMP warning, the battery should be replaced immediately. Failure to change these conditions will cause the device to shut down and the check to end.
Disposable batteries should be removed from the MX40 at the end of its life to prevent leakage. If the battery leaks Be careful when removing the battery. Released material may cause eye or skin irritation. Avoid contact with the skin. Clean the battery compartment according to the care instructions. Wash your hands.
To reduce the risk of electric shock or fire Do not carry batteries loose, such as in a pocket.
Caution
The use of AA lithium batteries or batteries with a polarity voltage > 1.6 V may damage the device.
When tested with the MX40 WLAN version (model 865352), the rechargeable Li-ion battery is the only approved power source. The use of disposable AA batteries is not supported.
