The power module

The power module is located on the back of the patient monitor. The main part of the power module is the power board, which includes the power management and charging board, step-down DC transformer board and DC boost-buck transformer board.

The power module converts incoming power to direct current and distributes it to each component on the patient monitor. Input power comes from battery or AC power. The patient monitor runs on AC power when available. If AC power is not available, the patient monitor will automatically switch to battery power. This will not affect the working status of the monitor.

The power module protects itself and the patient monitor by interrupting the AC input or DC output in the event of overcurrent, short circuit, and overvoltage. The power module provides 3 DC outputs:

Removing the Power Module Assembly

• Unscrew the four M3×12 screws and remove the power module assembly.

• Unscrew the three M3×12 screws and remove the power supply cover.

• Lift the power board with a small flat screwdriver. Then, turn it over.

• Unplug the cable between the AC input filter and the power board, then remove the power board.
