"Preventive maintenance" must be performed at least once a year, as long as the unit is not being used beyond normal levels. Normal operation is estimated to correspond to approximately 5,000 hours
Preparation
Before performing any maintenance, make sure the servo i is working properly.
• Check the "Service Log" via the "Bio Menu" for unexpected "Technical Alerts". "Technical Alerts" are also available through the Field Service System (FSS).
• Set the on/off switch on the user interface to off.
• Disconnect the main power cord.
• Disconnect gas supply (wall and/or cylinder).
• Remove the patient's tubing.
• If fitted, remove the bacterial filter from the exhalation inlet

Preventive maintenance maintenance kit, 5000 hours, only original parts from the manufacturer must be used. When doing this maintenance, the "Maintenance Kit, 5000 Hours" should be used. The following parts are included in "5000 Hours":
A. Filters for gas modules
B. Nozzle unit for gas module
C. Bacterial filter for suction pressure sensor
D.Bacterial filters that filter oxygen cells
Disassembly and assembly of the unit is required when replacing parts included in the "Maintenance Kit, 5000 Hours".
• The letters A-D in the following text refer to the description of the above maintenance kit.
• Prepare the device as described in the "Preparation" section above in this chapter.
Gas module A.
Replace the filter in the gas module. When replacing the filter, move the rubber seal from the old filter to the new filter.
B. Replace the plastic nozzle unit in the gas module.
Note :After replacing the plastic nozzle unit, wait 10 minutes before connecting the pressure to the gas module.
Suction pressure sensor filter C.
Replace the filter of the suction pressure sensor. Make sure the filter is properly seated in the rubber ring.
NOTE: This filter may have become part of the "Extended Aspiration Channel Cleaning".
D.Replace the bacterial filter of the O2 cells (if applicable).
NOTE: This filter is not used on the oxygen sensor.
Remove the internal fan filter (1).
• Check the filter for damage. Replace damaged filters.
• If not damaged, clean the filter. This filter can be rinsed with water. Shake well to make sure there is no excess water in the filter.
• Install new/cleaned filters.
The internal fan is connected to the power cable.
• Set the power switch to standby mode.
• Remove the oxygen sensor / battery connector (1) to protect the oxygen sensor / battery during the internal fan test.
• The indoor fan control temperature sensor is installed in the cable connector (1) Carefully heat the cable connector (1). Also make sure that the internal fan is on, for example, use a lamp or a cooling fan to heat the connectors.
• The internal fan starts at approx. :
33 ° C (91 ° F), half effect,
43 ° C (109 ° F), full effect
Note 1: The temperature should not exceed 70 ° C (158 ° F).
• Reconnect the oxygen sensor / battery connector (1) and install the suction cover
Note 2: If the unit has an O2 sensor, restart to avoid the "O2 sensor / unit failure" alarm.
