M3016A Measurement Server Expansion Working Principle
The specific application software for measuring the second pressure/temperature and CO2 runs on the main CPU of the measurement server. The pressure/temperature and CO2 front-end transmits the pre-processed Philipilipysiological data to the application-specific software on the main CPU of the measurement server through the front-end link protocol. The temperature/pressure functions available on the extension are the same as those available on the server. The temperature/pressure options specific to the extension are T2 and P2. If you press the zero key on the server, all invasive pressure channels used will be zeroed. However, to set a separate zero-sum label for P2, use the soft keys on the monitor. If two temperatures are measured (one using the server and one using the extension), the server calculates the temperature difference (Delta Temp)
M3016A MeasurementServer extended hardware function description
The extension receives information signals (such as Temp/Press and mainstream CO2, and then the patient transmits the data to the monitor through the server-to-monitor link bar.
The mainstream CO2 extension is always used with the server. To function properly, both the server and the extension must have compatible software revisions.
Do not use measurement extensions with measurement servers that include version A software (A.XX.XX). Due to the lack of the software required to process the data from the extension, no additional measurements will be displayed. To check the software version, press the settings key and select the version.
Pairing servers with extensions can achieve the following goals:
• Measure the body temperature and invasive blood pressure of the same patient.
• Two temperature measurements of the same patient, including Delta Temp calculation function.
• Perform two invasive blood pressure measurements on the same patient.
Mainstream CO2 Measurement
The M3016A measurement server extension has mainstream carbon dioxide breathing gas measurement for Monitor monitoring equipment. It is intended to be used with the M3000A measurement server for adult, pediatric or neonatal patients, in the hospital environment, and during clinical users transporting patients inside and outside the hospital
CO2 breathing gas measurement indicates the efficiency of oxygen transfer from alveolar air to pulmonary capillary blood, and the efficiency of removing carbon dioxide from pulmonary capillary blood and transferring it to alveolar air.
CO2 breathing gas measurements are evaluated as the gas passes through the airway adapter on the patient’s intubation system
The CO2 breathing gas measurement value indicates the patient's overall breathing status.

The two calibration marks are located at 10% and 60% of the channel height. The lower calibration mark is marked with 0 mmHg (0.0 kPa) on all scales. The previous one can be adjusted from 20 mmHg (2kPa) to 100 mmHg (13 kPa) in steps of 10 mmHg (1kPa)
