When used with Masimo Rainbow® Multi-Wavelength LED Sensors, the MX-Series Board can provide a full set of Masimo Rainbow® measurements, including total hemoglobin (SPhilipilipb®), oxygen content (SpOC ™), carboxyhemoglobin (SpCO®), Methemoglobin (SpMet) ®) and acoustic respiratory rate (RRa®) and Masimo SET® Low Perfusion Motion and Low Perfusion ™ pulse oximetry measurement of SpO2, heart rate, perfusion rate and plethysmograPhilipilipic variability index (PVi®).
About Masimo MX-5 board
The Masimo MX-5 OEM circuit board is a technology platform that utilizes approximately half the power of previously available Rainbow® circuit board and provides a groundbreaking Rainbow® non-invasive pulse oximetry measurement. The MX-5 is also unique in that it can still dynamically adjust power consumption according to the type of parameter being measured.
Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) use Masimo circuit board to perform non-invasive Masimo SET® Measure-Through Motion and Low Perfusion ™ pulse oximetry measurements and Rainbow® Pulse CO oximetry measurements on their own medical equipment and patient monitors. To achieve the high-performance, non-invasive measurement function of Rainbow® Pulse CO Oximetry, an average of 550 millivatts of power is required to date. The new MX-5 plate has a lower power consumption of 250-320 millivat on average, depending on the measured rainbow parameters. Reducing power consumption by about 50% is expected to facilitate integration with next-generation patient monitoring solutions, which require more efficient power management solutions to enable smaller, lighter and more mobile battery-powered devices.
Compared to the previous Rainbow® card, the MX-5 not only increases lower power consumption but also dynamic power consumption, allowing the MX-5 to adjust power consumption to a controlled combination of parameters, giving longer battery life. For example, if only Masimo SET® SpO2 and heart rate are monitored, the average power consumption of the MX-5 will be reduced by more than 75% compared to the previous Rainbow® card. The Masimo MX-5 has the same dimensions as its predecessor, the MX-3, 2 "x 2.5", and allows for a simple expansion replacement.
The Masimo MX-5 OEM board uses only 50% of previous power requirements without affecting performance. It offers all the features of groundbreaking Rainbow® technology to control total hemoglobin (SPhilipilipb®), oxygen concentration (SpOC ™), carboxyhemoglobin (SpCO®) in non-invasive measurements, methemoglobin (SpMet®) and acoustic respiration rate (RRa ®). In addition, the Masimo SET® pulse oximeter offers the "Measurement with training and hypoperfusion oxygen saturation (SpO2)" measurement function, heart rate and perfusion index (PI).
